The Art of Creative Nonfiction: Storytelling Seminar

An introduction to creative nonfiction, specifically tailored for high school sophomores and juniors. Over 8 weeks, the class — containing a maximum of six students — explores reading and writing across different forms of nonfiction, including personal narratives, journalism, and critical essays. Students’ final projects will be expanding and developing a polished, full-length essay, suitable for submission to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, a strong start on a personal statement for colleges, or another idea entirely their own.
